Re: Update on Coronavirus (COVID-19)
With updated recommendations from the Illinois Department of Public Health, American Health Care Association and the CDC, as well as keeping in mind the well-being of our residents, families and team members, we are cancelling all transportation with the exception of doctor appointments. This includes scheduled outings, shopping trips, and church until further notice. We are cancelling all marketing events until further notice.
Lexington Health Care Center and many others are also closed to all visitors at this time. We are limiting our Activities to internal only with nobody coming in from the community. Outside churches, exercise leaders and entertainers will not be allowed in until further notice.
As you know, Tuesday March 17 is Election Day. However, on Tuesday we will not be serving as a polling location as to eliminate unnecessary visitors. We are working through the next steps to see what we are able to do to assist you in the voting process and will advise you once we come to a decision on how you can get your votes in.
It is also our decision to discontinue ALL visits from family and friends, under any circumstances, at this time. If your family needs to drop items off out of necessity, they MUST drop it off at the Front Desk. We will ensure that the resident receives it.
We strongly discourage you from taking unnecessary risk by exposing yourself to close social contact outside the building where your risk of exposure to COVID-19 runs high.
It is all of our responsibility to take every precaution necessary to keep you and your families and friends safe.
